This is one of the most natural fleur de sels available. Salt production on the Île de Ré fits perfectly with the current "Slow Food" trend in the culinary world, as it is a 100% natural, authentic, and unrefined product.

The island is known for its exceptionally preserved environment. On this island, the salt workers who harvest fleur de sel are known as true "peasants of the sea."  They are the guardians of their local heritage and thus preserve these maritime lands and an invaluable biodiversity of fauna and flora. It is therefore one of the most natural fleurs de sels available.

The first salt marshes on the Île de Ré date back to the 15th century. Salt was then the most important industry on the Vendée coast. It is a product derived from traditional know-how on this island.

A 100% natural salt harvested by hand with the greatest respect for ancestral traditions. This fleur de sel is guaranteed 100% natural, with no additives and no processing.

It was the monks of the Abbey of Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm who began exploiting the salt marshes of the islets of Loix and Ars to make their clayey lands on the Île de Ré profitable and make it one of the most important production sites in western France.
