This fleur de sel is harvested in the salt marshes of Trapani, on the eastern coast. These salt marshes facing the Italian west coast are under the influence of a strong wind that gives these crystals a different aroma, a little more full-bodied than those of Sicily.

 

In its olive green jar inspired by Italy, it is the perfect salt flake for lovers of Italy.

 

Sprinkle it on olive oil and savour it with some good bread. Fantastic to enhance the flavours of all Italian dishes such as pastas, tomato sauces, tomato & mozzarella / burrata salads.

Fleur de sel is a finishing salt, which is put on dishes as a final touch, to preserve the nuanced flavours of the salt and its crystalline texture. Fleur de sel is not to be cooked and must be added off the heat, just before serving.

 

artisanal harvest

All fleur de sels are harvested by artisanal salt workers using traditional methods using lousse à fleur. They follow a natural drying process in the sun.
