Harvested in the WWF reserve of the salt marshes of Trapani in the North of Sicily, this fleur de sel enjoys a preserved natural environment, in its setting inspired by the patterns of regional artisanal ceramics.

 

This fleur de sel has been blended with 100% natural untreated Sicilian lemon from the Agrigento region. 

 

The salt pans of Trapani and the local artisan who harvests this lemon are just a few kilometers away. You can cycle from the salt pans to the lemon orchards, so these two were meant to meet.

 

Known to be one of the tastiest lemons in the world, this fruit is grown using traditional methods, harvested ripe and juicy.

 

Slightly fruity and full of sunshine with its lemon zest, this fleur de sel will delight the taste buds of gourmets of dishes that breathe the sea and freshness.

 

This blend will enhance any cuisine with Sicilian, Italian and Mediterranean accents such as fish, tartares, ceviches, carpaccio and salads, scallop carpaccios, or lobster recipes!

Fleur de sel is a finishing salt, which is put on dishes as a final touch, to preserve the nuanced flavours of the salt and its crystalline texture. Fleur de sel is not to be cooked and must be added off the heat, just before serving.

 

artisanal harvest

All fleur de sels are harvested by artisanal salt workers using traditional methods using lousse à fleur. They follow a natural drying process in the sun.
